These are the things that guide and direct us

in fulfilling the vision of a movement of God in the UK.

We pray all people in the UK may know Jesus and make Him known, through strong and healthy congregations that communicate the Gospel to all people. M4 is one of many tools to help a UK church plant to succeed. We want to work side by side with leaders and church planters from different denominations and organisations of all evangelical backgrounds. We want to create meet-ups for mutual learning; offer vision; and use M4 to see a movement of churches reaching new people in new ways.

The M4 UK leadership team is an experienced group

of leaders who desire to see the UK transformed.

When dairy farmers Tim and Katrina Cracknell first responded to God's leading to plant a new church in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, they didn't know what to expect. All they had was a dream to start a different kind of church for the area, targeting those who didn't go to church. In 2006, they set up the Forest of Dean Community Church and its now a thriving community. As well as a weekly worship service, the church hosts a variety of activities ranging from parent, carers & toddlers, soft play, a drop-in centre, Foodbank, Celebrate Recovery (for those with hurts, habits and hang-ups), CAP job club (to help unemployed), CAP debt coaching, as well as the more traditional Bible study groups each week.

M4 UK assists in the planting of new churches

through the ABC’s of church planting.

M4 UK believes that finding the right church planter is essential to planting a healthy church. Also, a planter, if married, needs the support of their spouse. Through our Assessment process led by Tim Cracknell, we seek to assess each planter and their spouse before they begin the M4 process. This assessment helps them to learn about themselves and the church they feel led to plant. We focus on 4 areas, Calling, Character, Competence, and Chemistry. Through this assessment, a recommendation is made to the planter and the planter's leadership structure. You can take our online assessment here.

M4 UK Basic Training takes place in several different ways.

  • First, we have two books . M4-Master and Mission is available for purchase. M4-Multiplication and Movement is also available. All individuals going through M4 are expected to read both of these books to learn more about the church planting process.
  • Second, we have an online environment, based on the Simply Learn platform where church planters and their team can learn and develop. This platform allows team to watch videos, process the material and do additional exercises to help them in their planting process.
  • Finally, we have four Learning Communities over the course of 2 years. Each Learning Community focuses on a different topic in the church planting process that planters and their teams need to learn about and process. Finally, the teams create an action plan that will guide their church over the next 6 months.

Church planting is hard work so to help planters in this process we provide monthly coaching. These coaches help to encourage the planter as well as challenge them in the work they are doing. Coaches review the action plan and provide feedback and critique on their progress. Coaching helps to raise the effectiveness of church planting more than any other aspect. Coaching for M4 UK is led by James Hyde.

What is M4?

M4 is built around the ABC's of church planting: Assessment, Basic Training and Coaching. We have created an online & interview system for assessment that helps leaders find the right church planting candidates. Our basic training, allows, not just for content, but for a unique environment for planters and their teams to guide them during the first 2-3 years of their church plant. Coaching, conducted by experienced planters and leaders, helps teams take their plans from a dream to reality. The content in the training platform has been developed from 30 years of church planting experience in the European context, and it formed around these four topics: Master; Mission; Multiplication and Movement.

E-learning

Church planting is a difficult endeavour and very time consuming. Training is on going and needs to be flexible and portable. M4 uses Growdly.com, an e-learning platform specifically designed to build church planters and their team through the first two years of their church planting process.
